Joseph M. Bedenbaugh Administrator of the Year Award 2018
May 16, 2018: On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, theLexington One Educational Foundation presented the 2018 Joseph M. Bedenbaugh Administrator of the Year Award to Mr. Tim Livingston. Established by the Foundation in 2005, this award recognizes an outstanding and deserving administrator in the district, while also honoring the last surviving administrator from the original Lexington DistrictOne staff of 1952.
Mr. Bedenbaugh worked in the district for 36 years serving as a seventh grade math teacher, principal and assistant superintendent for personnel and federal programs. He is also a World War II veteran who served in the United States Air Force. This award honors him each year as the award is presented to a contemporary administrator.
Mr. Tim Livingston has exhibited outstanding leadership and a selfless dedication to education in Lexington School District One for more than 20 years. He currently serves as Assistant Principal of Lake Murray Elementary School. A colleague said, “Tim not only wants the best for every student in our school, but also the very best for every teacher and family.” He is known for his compassion, encouragement to others, kindness, and humble spirit.
Over 30 individuals surprised Mr. Livingston on Tuesday evening when they showed up to help celebrate the award presentation to such a deserving administrator. Mr. Bedenbaugh was unable to attend but sent his personal congratulations to Mr. Livingston.
