Congratulations to the Fall 2017 Recipients of the Michelin Golden Apple Teach Grants Awards!
September 20, 2017: Biannually Michelin offers a grant opportunity to our teachers in Lexington School District One through their generosity to the Educational Foundation. They can apply for up to $250 of support to enhance educational experiences for their students. The intent is not to supplement normal school supplies, but to allow for more creative learning opportunities not normally supported by the school supply budget.
We were thrilled to have the following teachers chosen to receive Micheline Golden Apple Teacher Grants for the Fall 2017 Awards:
- Alyse Bullard – Deerfield Elementary School
- Ryan Allman – Gilbert Elementary School
- Katie Silvanic – Lake Murray Elementary School
- Cynthia Hecko – Pleasant Hill Elementary School
Each of the award recipients were recognized for this honor at the September 19th Board of Trustees meeting.
Some of this fall’s Golden Apple funded projects included the purchase of special books to form Class Book Clubs, help with the creation of a Specialized Reading Space and enhancing STEM learning through play for elementary students. All of the funded projects combined will positively impact over 100 students in Lexington One! Please be sure to congratulate these teachers and their school administrators for this accomplishment!
We greatly appreciate Michelin’s continued generosity and commitment to Lexington One teachers and students in partnering with us to offer these terrific educational opportunities!
