Cats Kick Cancer Fund Assists Students & Staff

September 13, 2022

The Lexington One Educational Foundation is fortunate to have many caring donors give with a desire to help others who are struggling. Our Cats Kick Cancer Fund is a prime example of such empathetic hearts.

The Cats Kick Cancer Fund directly assists students and employees in Lexington District One who are battling cancer and struggling financially to make ends meet.

The Lexington High School Boys Soccer Team established the Cats Kick Cancer fund with the Educational Foundation in 2018. Each year the players and Coach Will Gettys raise money by securing pledges and then payments are made based on the number of goals scored each season. The team members are passionate about the cause and the Educational Foundation is privileged to receive and administer the fund along with its LEAP Fund.

Please be sure to refer individuals who are in this tough battle to their school’s or department’s assigned LEAP representative, or to our staff, to determine if the Educational Foundation’s funds can help. Our LEAP representatives assist the foundation with our Lexington Emergency Assistance Plan applications and individuals needing support due to a battle with cancer should complete a LEAP application.

Many thanks to the Lexington High School Boys Soccer team for caring so much and establishing the Cats Kick Cancer fund! Thank you for helping us spread the word!
