Blowfish Auction Results in Foundation Gift to Lexington One Science Programs

August 16, 2017

August 16, 2017: The weekend of August 5, 2017, the Lexington County Blowfish Club auctioned off their Total Eclipse Baseball Jerseys and raised $3,000 to assist Lexington One! Despite rains at the actual Blowfish game on that Saturday, they were able to take bids online that weekend from individuals who were interested in purchasing the jerseys. Club owners Bill and Vicki Shanahan gave the proceeds to the Lexington One Educational Foundation and designated them for elementary science programs in Lexington County District One.

“We are very fortunate to have Bill and Vicki Shanahan as loyal supporters of Lexington School District One,” said Julie Anderson Washburn, executive director of the Lexington One Educational Foundation. “We appreciate their continued energy in helping our district by supporting our children and their educational initiatives, especially in reading and science areas.”

The Educational Foundation chair, Simeon Bryant, stated, “On behalf of everyone with the Lexington One Educational Foundation, we are grateful to Bill and Vicki for their continued generosity to Lexington One. They have a passion for helping others and we appreciate their commitment to education here in our Lexington One family.”

The Lexington County Blowfish Club extend an invitation for all students and staff to experience the Total Eclipse in a safe environment at the Blowfish Stadium (474 Ballpark Road, Lexington SC) on Monday, August 21, 2017.
